UAE, Seychelles discuss economic cooperation at Expo 2020 Dubai

On the sidelines of Expo 2020 Dubai, Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, met with Devika Vidot, Minister for Investment, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Industry in Seychelles. The two sides discussed ways of strengthening the economic partnership between the two nations by exploring new areas of cooperation and agreeing on new frameworks of coordination, facilitating investors with access to each other’s markets, capitalizing on promising opportunities, and increasing trade and investment flows through a focus on tourism and clean energy.

During the discussion, Al Falasi said that the UAE has adopted an ambitious vision for the next 50 years that includes improving economic and commercial openness to the rest of the world and establishing international partnerships and developing cooperation programs in priority sectors. Non-oil exports between the two countries were up 35.1%, oil re-exports were up 25%, and imports rose 16.7% compared to 2020.
